Blitz vs Mobalytics: Which League App Should You Use? (Plus Hexgate)
Blitz is the overlay-heavy all-rounder, Mobalytics is the improvement coach. Here is the head-to-head with October 2026 prices and install weight, and the one thing neither is built to do, where Hexgate comes in as a third option.
We build Hexgate, a third app in this space, so we are biased; it appears below for item builds that react to the enemy team, plus Pro+ lane scouting and a breakdown of every game, not as the answer to the question you searched. Prices and features for Blitz and Mobalytics come from their own pages, checked on October 4, 2026.
Short Answer: Blitz vs Mobalytics
Pick
Blitz
If you want help during the game

Standalone (Electron), Windows and macOS
Premium from $3.99 / month, from $2.67 yearly
VSPick
Mobalytics
If you want to know why you lose
Its GPI score, matchup advice, challenges and post-game reports are built to change how you play over months, at the cost of Overwolf and a $5.83 to $9.99 monthly Plus plan for the full coaching layer.
Runs on Overwolf (Windows)

League only
The Core Difference: During the Game vs Across Many Games
Blitz: this game
Blitz is built around the game you are playing. It lists close to twenty League features on its site and most of them are in-game overlays: minimap timers for camps, dragon and inhibitors, teammate ultimate timers on their portraits, a jungle pathing guide, an item value comparison, benchmarks, a skill order reminder and a trinket reminder. It imports runes and builds automatically (including pro builds) and has unusually strong support for alternate modes, with a hand-made ARAM Mayhem augment tier list in game, Arena augment stats and ARAM health relic timers.
Mobalytics: all your games
Mobalytics is built around your progress. Its signature Gamer Performance Index (GPI) scores your play across skills like farming, fighting, vision and survivability and tracks them over time. Before the game it scouts your lobby and gives counter picks and matchup-specific advice; during it, power spike notifications, live gold leads, CS counters, jungle timers and in-game challenges; after it, a post-game report that ranks all ten players, automatic highlight detection and LP tracking.
Both import builds, both scout, both show stats. The question is which half of your game you want help with: the decisions inside this match (Blitz) or the habits across all of them (Mobalytics).
Blitz: Strengths and Weak Spots
What Blitz does well
Breadth without a platform. Blitz is a standalone app, so you do not install Overwolf, and it runs on both Windows and macOS.
If you want one install that covers champ select, the game and the post-match screen, and you also play TFT, Valorant or other titles, Blitz covers the most ground of any League companion.
Its ARAM Mayhem and Arena overlays are a real advantage if you play those modes often.
Where Blitz falls short
Blitz is an Electron app, which means it carries a browser engine's memory baseline next to League, and long-standing user reports describe high RAM use after long sessions. Check Task Manager on your own PC rather than trusting anyone's number, including ours.
The free tier carries ads, and two build features, Masters+ builds and in-game one-trick builds, are part of Premium.
The HUD gets busy: if you like a clean screen, plan to switch overlays off.
Its builds, like every stats app's, are aggregate builds chosen before the game.
Mobalytics: Strengths and Weak Spots
What Mobalytics does well
The feedback loop. GPI turns a long match history into a few skills to work on.
Matchup advice explains how to play the lane in front of you, and the post-game report ranks your performance against the other nine players.
If your rank has been flat for months and you do not know why, Mobalytics is the tool most focused on answering that.
Where Mobalytics falls short
Mobalytics' League app uses the Overwolf platform as its framework (Mobalytics says so in its own FAQ), so you run Overwolf plus the app alongside League, and it is Windows only. On a 16 GB machine with Discord and a browser open, that stack is noticeable.
The free tier shows ads, and the deeper coaching features sit behind Plus at $9.99 per month, the pricier of the two subscriptions by a wide margin ($69.99 a year against Blitz's from-$32.04).
Its build recommendations are aggregate builds too.
Price: What a Year Costs
Blitz Premiumpaid monthly (from)$47.88
Blitz Premiumpaid yearly (from)$32.04
Mobalytics Pluspaid monthly$119.88
Mobalytics Pluspaid yearly$69.99
Paid monthly, a year of Blitz Premium starts at $47.88 and a year of Mobalytics Plus costs $119.88. Paid yearly, Blitz starts at $32.04 and Mobalytics costs $69.99. Blitz's prices vary by region and it runs discount codes from time to time, so check its page in your currency. The more useful question is what you are paying for: Blitz Premium mostly buys ad removal plus Masters+ and one-trick builds; Mobalytics Plus is where most of its coaching lives, so its free tier is closer to a preview.
Install Weight
Both are heavier than a single-purpose tool. Blitz is one Electron process with a browser engine inside; Mobalytics is the Overwolf host plus the Mobalytics app on top. Neither will matter on a 32 GB gaming PC. On a 16 GB laptop running League, Discord and a browser, the difference is real enough to choose on purpose, and Mobalytics' GPI also works on its website, without the desktop app running during your games.
Rule of thumb: if your PC drops frames in team fights, keep at most one heavy companion app running during games and use the other one's website between games.
Safety and Riot Compliance
Riot allows third-party tools that surface information a player could track manually and bans tools that expose hidden information, automate gameplay or change what the game shows. Riot has tightened the rules over time (enemy ultimate alerts were banned from overlays and in-game overlay ads were banned in 2025), and every major app adjusted.
Blitz and Mobalytics both work from Riot's official data and stay within those rules; Mobalytics states its overlay is in sync with Riot's Terms of Service and will not get players banned. Neither modifies game files or automates input. Hexgate reads Riot's Live Client Data API (https://127.0.0.1:2999/liveclientdata/), a local API Riot provides for third-party tools, and imports runes through the League client API, the same mechanism the other apps use. More detail in can you get banned for LoL apps.
The Gap Both Share: The Enemy Team in Front of You
Blitz hands you a pro, Masters+ or one-trick build; Mobalytics hands you its recommended build with matchup advice. Both are chosen from what won across thousands of other games, before yours starts. If the enemy team turns out to be Malphite, Amumu, Leona and two AD carries, the third item suggested is the same as against five mages.
That is the job Hexgate is built for. During the game it reads the enemy team from Riot's Live Client Data API and scores every viable item for your champion and build slot. The first core items stay data-driven, because they rarely change; the situational slots move with the enemy physical and magic damage split, crowd control, healing and shields, tankiness and who is fed, and every change shows its reason in the overlay ("MR up: 3 AP threats").
What you get
Free: 3 games per day with no ads, including each lane's gold difference on League's own scoreboard while you hold Tab.
Pro (€9.99 per month, €7.49 billed yearly): unlimited games, lane matchup scoring and one-trick builds.
Pro+ (€14.99 per month): Lane Scouting on the loading screen, a Match Breakdown of every ranked, Draft and Swiftplay game and Clips of every death.
What it does not do
Hexgate is deliberately narrow: it has no timers, no GPI, no LP tracking and no player profiles, and it is Windows only.
It runs fine next to Blitz or Mobalytics; turn off rune import in one of them so they do not fight over your rune page.
Zed and Kha'Zix on the enemy team: Zhonya's Hourglass jumps to first for Ahri's 3rd item, tagged Heavy AD.
Akali and Malphite on the enemy team: Mercurial Scimitar leads Jinx's 5th item, tagged Heavy AP.
Diana, Mordekaiser and Syndra on the enemy team: Kaenic Rookern leads Leona's 3rd item and the boots switch to Mercury's Treads.
Sivir on the enemy team: Guardian Angel and Death's Dance move to the top of Vi's 3rd item and the boots switch to Plated Steelcaps.

Which One Should You Pick?
Pick Blitz if you want the most help during the game.
Timers, pathing, reminders, auto-imported builds and the best ARAM Mayhem and Arena overlays in one standalone app, on Windows or Mac, with the cheaper ad-free plan. Switch off the overlays you do not use.
Pick Mobalytics if you want to fix your habits.
GPI, matchup advice and post-game reports give you a plan, not just numbers. Accept Overwolf, the ads on free, and $5.83 to $9.99 a month for the full coaching layer.
Add Hexgate if your items never change with the enemy team.
Whichever you keep, its build is the average build. Hexgate adapts the situational items to the game you are in, with no Overwolf and no ads.
What About U.GG, OP.GG and Porofessor?
U.GG
The cleanest place for builds filtered by rank, role and lane matchup, with a standalone app that tracks LP per game.
Blitz is better if you want one standalone app with the most in-game help: timers, jungle pathing, augment overlays for ARAM Mayhem and Arena, and builds imported automatically, without Overwolf. Mobalytics is better if you want to improve over time: its GPI score, matchup advice and post-game reports explain what to fix. Blitz is also cheaper to use without ads.
Does Blitz or Mobalytics use Overwolf?
Mobalytics does: its League app uses the Overwolf platform as its framework. Blitz does not: it is a standalone desktop app for Windows and macOS.
How much do Blitz Premium and Mobalytics Plus cost?
In October 2026 Blitz Premium starts at $3.99 per month or $2.67 per month billed yearly, with prices that vary by region. Mobalytics Plus costs $9.99 per month, $24.99 for 3 months or $69.99 per year ($5.83 per month). Both free tiers show ads.
Can I use Blitz and Mobalytics together?
You can, but both import runes and builds and both draw in-game overlays, so they compete for the same jobs and you pay for Overwolf plus an Electron app. A lighter setup is Blitz in game and Mobalytics on the web for a GPI review after a session.
Do Blitz or Mobalytics adapt builds to the enemy team?
Both recommend builds from aggregate data decided before the game: Blitz offers pro, Masters+ and one-trick builds, Mobalytics adds matchup advice. Hexgate is a separate overlay that reorders the situational items against the five enemies in your game while you play.
Will Blitz or Mobalytics get me banned?
No. Both are established apps that use Riot's official data and stay within Riot's third-party rules; Mobalytics states its overlay is in sync with Riot's Terms of Service. Neither modifies game files or automates input.
Final Thoughts
Blitz and Mobalytics are both good at what they were built for, and the "vs" mostly hides that they were built for different halves of your game. If you can only run one during games, Blitz is the lighter platform and the cheaper ad-free plan; if your rank has been flat for months, Mobalytics' coaching is the more likely fix, and its website works without the desktop app.
